The Signature Duffel is lined with Rowdy cotton, a 100% cotton fabric woven in Cape Town to a pattern we designed ourselves, inspired by African culture and its historic connection to cattle.

It is not a detail most people will see. It is the one every owner ends up showing someone.

The build

Made to be packed, not preserved

A secure YKK top zip. Three internal pockets so your charger is not at the bottom under your boots. One external zip pocket for the things you need without opening the bag. An adjustable strap that carries a full load comfortably.

Small takes a long weekend at 55 × 28 × 25 cm. Large takes a week at 60 × 32 × 30 cm.

We genuinely repair Rowdy bags. Bring it back, post it back, or drop it at any of our locations. Any manufacturing defect, whether stitching, zip or hardware, we repair it for as long as you own the bag.

What is the difference between the Originals Duffel and the Signature Lining Duffel? +

The silhouette, leather, hardware and construction are the same. The Originals Duffel (from R3,295) has a clean black lining and comes in four colours: Mountain, Amber, Cedar and Charcoal. The Signature Lining Duffel (from R4,200) is lined in Rowdy cotton, woven in Cape Town to our own design, and comes in ten leathers including premium finishes like Magma.

Which size should I get? +

The Small is 55 × 28 × 25 cm and handles a long weekend comfortably. The Large is 60 × 32 × 30 cm and takes about a week, or gym kit plus a change of clothes with room over. If you are between the two, most customers are happier having gone Large.

Will it fit as carry-on luggage? +

The Small at 55 × 28 × 25 cm is close to the cabin allowance on most airlines, but every airline sets its own limit and some are stricter on depth. Check your carrier's current dimensions before you fly. The Large is designed as checked or car travel.

What is inside the bag? +

Three internal pockets for organisation, one external zip pocket for the things you want without opening the bag, a secure YKK top zip closure, and an adjustable strap for shoulder or hand carry.

Is the leather real, and how does it age? +

Yes. We use full-aniline leather, the most natural finish there is, with no surface coating hiding the grain. That means each hide carries its own marks and texture, and no two bags are identical. It softens and deepens with use rather than wearing out.

How do I care for it? +

Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, water-soak and harsh cleaners. Wipe gently with a soft cloth. Condition every few months with a natural leather food, which we sell. With basic care a Rowdy duffel lasts decades.

What is the Repair-for-Life Promise? +

We repair any manufacturing defect in any Rowdy bag for as long as you own it. Stitching, zip, hardware. Bring it to one of our locations or post it in. Wear and tear from use is not covered, but the bag is built to take a great deal of it.

How long is shipping and what does it cost? +

Free local (South African) shipping, as every duffel clears the R1,500 threshold on its own. International shipping is a flat R800. Local orders ship in 2-5 working days, international 5-10.

Can I return it if it is not right? +

Yes. A 10-day cooling-off return window, free of charge in South Africa, through our returns portal. Custom or personalised pieces are not returnable, but a standard duffel is.

Can I have it personalised? +

Yes. We emboss initials for R150. Note that personalised pieces fall outside the standard return window, so be sure of your colour and size first.
