LIMITED LIFETIME GUARANTEE
- We at Rowdy International (Pty) Ltd (“Rowdy”) pride ourselves on the quality of our leather goods that are handmade by our highly trained and skilled artisans. We use the finest quality leather and materials to ensure that your leather goods are of the highest quality.
- We are so confident in the quality of our workmanship and finished products that we offer a LIMITED LIFETIME GUARANTEE (“Repairs for Life”) over the lifetime of a product.
- We at Rowdy warrant to you, the original purchaser, that the leather handmade goods (“goods”) available for purchase in our physical stores and on our Website as described in our price lists, or through our pre-approved third party sellers will be free from defects in workmanship. This guarantee commences from the date of purchase and continues for the lifetime of the product.
- We emphasise that by lifetime, we do not mean an indeterminate period of several decades or more. Each leather good is unique and the lifetime of each item will depend on intended usage thereof. In general, all our products have a lifetime of 10 to 15 years.
- Our Repairs for Life does not cover defects in the leather. Our leather is sourced from our pre-approved vendors, in respect of whom great care has been taken to ensure that the leather they provide us with is of the finest quality. Leather is a natural material, therefore you should expect some natural and unique characteristics such as creases, variations in colour and sometimes small scratches. You can expect the leather goods to wear, fade or darken in colour and receive imperfections and scratches throughout the product’s lifetime. These are not considered manufacturing defects and we believe that these characteristics give each of our goods a sense of uniqueness and beauty.
- Our Repairs for Life is exclusive to the Original Purchaser of the product and is not subject to inheritance, assignment, cession or transfer or other similar transfer in title. Furthermore, Repairs for Life shall not apply to you if you purchased goods from a Third Party Seller who has not been pre-approved by us. Notwithstanding the aforegoing, the original purchaser is not prohibited from gifting the goods to another party, who will in effect assume the role of the original purchaser, so long as they adhere to the provisions hereof.
LIMITED LIFETIME GUARANTEE EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS
- Any claims associated with the below list are not considered manufacturing defects and are therefore not covered by our guarantee.
- Wear and tear from normal daily use such as:
- Worn corners and edges;
- Softening of the leather;
- Natural wrinkles;
- Natural and expected fading or darkening of materials;
- Stains or spills;
- Improper conditioning, oiling and cleaning;
- Stretching from wear/use;
- Damage from continued friction and rubbing; and
- Handles, straps, linings, buckles and zippers that are ripped or worn from normal daily use.
- Abuse, misuse, neglect or accidental damage such as:
- Damaged handles, straps, linings, buckles and zippers from incorrect use or tampering;
- Damage caused by any third party after you have received delivery of the goods;
- Loss, theft or intentional damage;
- Gashes, rips, scratches or tears;
- Exposure to harsh chemicals; and
- Repairs or alterations made by third party leather vendors or salespersons or artisans whether with or without Rowdy’s consent;
- Damage due to exposure from weather such as harsh sunlight, rainfall, or other weather;
- Damage due to improper and or negligent storage;
- Damage due to fire.
- Goods that, while still usable, have gone beyond their lifetime.
- Rowdy reserves the right to inspect, assess and or refuse to uphold claims on a case by case basis subject to these conditions and exclusions.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITY
- Due to the nature of leather products, our Repairs for Life does not cover wear and tear from normal daily use. We can guarantee that if well maintained and cared for, your Rowdy goods will be your steadfast companion in many of life’s journeys.
- Great care should be taken in handling your goods. You should never wash the goods in a washing machine as this can cause permanent damage to the leather. Do not use any harsh cleaning products with alcohol, turpentine and other mineral spirits. Store your Rowdy goods in a clean, cool and moisture-free area. Always keep your goods out of direct sunlight as this can cause leather to dry out and fade. Should your leather ever get wet, quickly blot and absorb as much water as possible and let it air dry.
- It is crucial to keep your Rowdy goods well maintained and moisturised. Doing so will ensure that the goods last and preserve their beauty. If you live in a drier climate please make sure to condition and moisturise your goods as soon as you start to feel them getting dry. Our leathers should feel smooth and oily when properly maintained. We recommend our range of leather cleaners available on our website for best results.
- Please note that if the goods are not used as intended, or if they are used in a harsh and negligent manner, our 'Repairs for Life' policy will be rendered void
REPAIRS PROCESS
- Any and all repair work that is subject to our Repairs for Life should be submitted to Rowdy. We do however understand that for our international customers, the costs of shipping may be prohibitive. In these circumstances, we may approve, on a case by case basis, work to be done by a third party who specialises in leather repair work. This is subject to you sending your request via email and receiving our approval in writing. Rowdy will compensate you for the repairs up to a maximum of USD 30.00 or its equivalent in your applicable local currency and pegged at the prevailing currency exchange rates. We emphasise that doing so is entirely at your risk and that Rowdy will not be held responsible for any damage or defect that may occur due to repair by a third party. Furthermore, any repair work carried out by a third party may, depending on the circumstances, lead to the voiding of our Repairs for Life.
- Once you determine that your goods are in need of repair due to a manufacturing defect, it is your responsibility to:log your repair with Rowdy via our returns portal
- Rowdy will send instructions via email regarding the shipping of Goods once your request to submit the Goods for repairs has been approved. Kindly note that this is only a preliminary step and does not preclude Rowdy’s team from making an assessment as to the damage to the Goods and determining whether they are covered by our Repairs for Life.
- Kindly note that Rowdy will only offer free shipping to you if you purchased the goods as set out above and if you are resident in the Republic of South Africa, alternatively if the goods will be picked up from and delivered to an address within the Republic of South Africa.
- For customers outside of the Republic of South Africa as set out above, Rowdy will not arrange for the shipping of your goods and will thus not be held liable for any loss or damage to any items during shipping.
- Rowdy recommends that when shipping your Goods you use a trackable carrier and request short-term insurance coverage equivalent to the value of the Goods.
- Rowdy will not accept delivery of any Goods dispatched to us without prior communication by you or acknowledgment by us.
- Should the goods be assessed and the damage be determined to be due to a manufacturing defect, we will repair the Goods in line with this policy. In this situation, Rowdy will arrange for return-shipping to your nominated address within the Republic of South Africa. For all purchasers outside of the Republic of South Africa (international), you will be required to arrange return-shipping at your own cost.
- Should Rowdy assess the Goods and determine that the damage is not due to a manufacturing defect, this will be communicated to you, and it will be your responsibility to arrange return-shipping.
- Should we be unable to repair your product, we will communicate this to you and will attempt to replace the item.
- Rowdy reserves the right to refuse and return dirty or soiled items that might pose a health risk to our team. Any Goods being sent in for work must be cleaned out as we will not be held liable for any missing or misplaced personal belongings.
- Rowdy reserves the right to alter, edit or cancel our Repairs for Life Policy without notice.
