The hide
Free-range Namibian leather
Every Rowdy Moon Bag starts with free-range cowhide sourced from Namibian farms. We use full-aniline leather — the most natural finish there is, with no surface coating that hides the grain.
That means every hide carries its own marks, texture and patina. No two bags are identical. They soften and deepen with use.

The build
Six hours, four hands, one workshop
Each Moon Bag takes up to six hours to make in our Salt River workshop. Cut, skived, stitched and finished by a team of twenty artisans whose names and roles are on our About page.
YKK zip. Cotton-lined interior. Italian hardware. Hidden interior pocket for cards. Two removable leather straps with clip-on fittings — long for crossbody, short for waist, or carry by hand.

The promise
Repair-for-Life. Not a marketing line.
We genuinely repair Rowdy bags. Bring it back, post it back, drop it off at any of our three locations. Any manufacturing defect — stitching, zip, hardware — we repair, for as long as you own it.
Last year we spent over R10,000 keeping customer bags going for another decade. The promise has been part of every Rowdy bag since 2012.
